Guide for candidates
Working in Ukraine: conditions, documents and how arrival works
How to verify a job offer, which documents to prepare, where you will live, who will meet you and who to contact after arrival.
WORKIN does not charge workers for finding them a job.

How it works
Who is involved in your employment
Three parties are involved. Each has its own role, and it matters who you go to with which question.
- 01
WORKIN
Matches work to your experience, verifies the employer's conditions, organises your arrival and supports you afterwards. Does not charge the worker for employment.
- 02
The employer
The enterprise where you will work. Signs your employment contract, pays your wages, is responsible for safety and the workplace.
- 03
The migration partner
A separate company that prepares the documents: work permit, visa, residence permit and registration.
Verifying an offer
What you should know before you agree
An honest offer survives every check below. If any point has no answer, ask before you travel.
- 01
Employer and site
The name of the enterprise or a clear description of the site: what it produces, where it is, how many people work there.
- 02
Trade and tasks
What exactly you will do in the shift: section, equipment, norms.
- 03
Pay
The rate, how it is calculated, the payment date and how overtime is paid.
- 04
Schedule
Hours per shift, shifts per week, how shifts rotate.
- 05
Housing
Type of accommodation, how many people per room, who pays, distance to work.
- 06
Transport
How you get to the site and back, and who organises it.
- 07
Meals
Canteen, kitchen or compensation.
- 08
Coordinator
The name and contact of the person you turn to with any question.
- 09
Contract
The employment contract is signed with the enterprise. Its terms must match what you were promised.
- 10
Payments
WORKIN does not charge the worker. Any demand for money for the job itself is a reason to stop.
Documents
Which documents you need and why
Documents are prepared in stages. Some before departure, some after arrival in Ukraine.

The enterprise confirms you from your profile. Only then does document processing start.

A WORKIN representative meets the group at the border or the airport.

Move-in
You receive the keys, the house rules and a contact for everyday questions.

Accommodation
Where you will live
The accommodation format is known before departure - you agree to specific conditions, not to a promise.

For an organised group. Bed, wardrobe, access to the kitchen and bathroom.
A private room
For a single worker or the group coordinator.
Hostel or residence
Shared kitchen, bathrooms and living areas, with house rules.
Family apartment
A separate format if you arrive with your family.

Wages
How wages are paid
Where the terms are fixed
The rate, calculation and payment date are in the employment contract with the enterprise. The contract must match what you were promised.
Who pays
Wages are paid by the employing enterprise, not by WORKIN and not by an intermediary.
Working time records
The enterprise records hours worked. You are entitled to know how many hours were counted.
Who to ask
First the shift manager or the enterprise's finance office. If it is not resolved, contact your WORKIN coordinator.
Safety
Signs of fraud: when to stop
These signs mean the offer is unsafe. Check them before you hand over money or documents.
- The intermediary is unknown, with no company and no contract
- You are asked to pay for the job with no payment document
- Someone promises a guaranteed decision from a state authority
- The price changes or hidden payments appear
- The employment contract is not shown before departure
- You are asked to send your passport through an unsecured channel
- After arrival the job, pay or housing differ from what was promised
- Someone takes your passport "for safekeeping" - that is illegal
Your passport stays with you. A worker does not pay for employment. If anything differs from what was promised, contact your WORKIN coordinator immediately.
Contacts
Who to contact
Confirmed WORKIN contacts. Save them before you travel.
If the situation is urgent, call the hotline. If there is no answer, write by email and messenger: the request is registered and a coordinator will see it.

Questions and answers
Frequent candidate questions
Plain answers to what people ask most often.
No. WORKIN does not charge workers for finding work or processing documents. If someone asks you for money for the job itself, stop and contact us.
At the first stage - only your international passport and information about your work experience. The rest is prepared later, once the employer has approved you.
Practically 4-7 weeks for visa-free countries and 8-14 weeks if a D visa is required. The exact timeline depends on the country, the trade and state decisions.
How travel is paid is agreed before departure and fixed in your project terms. You should know this in advance, not after the fact.
The housing format is known before departure: type of accommodation, how many people per room, distance to work and who pays.
Contact your WORKIN coordinator immediately. A mismatch with the promised conditions is grounds to take it up with the employer, not to put up with it.
Changing employer involves documents: the work permit is issued for a specific enterprise. Discuss it with your coordinator - they will explain the procedure.
For most blue-collar trades the language is not required on entry. The group has a coordinator who speaks a language you understand.
It depends on the project and the housing. Mention it at the profile stage so we can match a suitable option from the start.
A WORKIN representative meets the group at the border or the airport and accompanies you to your accommodation.
You have medical insurance. Tell your coordinator and the shift manager - they will advise where to go.
Work permit, an employment contract with the enterprise, a residence permit and address registration. This protects both you and the employer.
No. Your passport stays with you. A demand to hand over your passport for safekeeping is illegal - tell us.
Tell your coordinator as early as possible. Many issues are solved by moving to another section or adjusting the conditions.
