Temporary residence permit
The document that turns an arrival into a lawful stay. It is obtained after entry and is never left for later.
We do not drag the filing out to the end of the permitted stay. An overstay means a fine for the worker and a stoppage for the enterprise.

What it is and why it matters
The residence permit is a plastic card giving the right to live in Ukraine for the duration of the work permit. It is issued by the State Migration Service. Without it a stay is limited to ninety days in a hundred and eighty, and it is precisely this card that lifts that limit.

Practical term
Three to five weeks from filing to collecting the card. Biometrics are taken at once; the card is produced separately.

Who applies
The worker in person, but the enterprise assembles the file. Our coordinator goes along and helps with the application form.

Issued to
The worker, tied to the employer through the work permit.

Validity
Up to the term of the permit. If the employer changes, the card is reissued; it does not carry over by itself.
Procedure
How it happens, step by step
The clock runs from the date of entry, not from the date it becomes convenient for the enterprise.

The first days after arrival
We settle the person in, check the documents and start assembling the file immediately. Waiting until the permitted stay runs out serves no purpose.

The file for the migration service
Passport with translation, the permit, the employment contract, proof of accommodation, insurance, a photograph and the receipt for the state payment.

Filing and biometrics
The worker submits the papers and gives biometric data. The review period runs from that day.

Decision and card production
The service decides and sends the data for production. At this stage nothing depends on us any more.
- 05
Collection and registration
We collect the card and register the place of residence. A copy goes into the personnel file next to the permit.

We split it so the worker brings only what nobody else can.
Prepared by the enterprise
- A copy of the work permit
- The signed employment contract
- Proof of accommodation from the property owner
- The receipt for the state payment
Brought by the worker
- An international passport with a notarised translation
- A photograph to the prescribed format
- Medical insurance valid in Ukraine
- The application form, completed with the coordinator
The state fee for the card is paid by the enterprise. Nothing is charged to the worker for paperwork, in any form.
Risks
What wrecks the timeline or creates a breach
Four mistakes that cost the most time.

Filing late
The main mistake. The papers must go in while the stay is still lawful. Overstaying means a fine for the worker, a stoppage for the enterprise and, at worst, an entry ban.

The address does not match
Proof of accommodation must correspond to where the person actually lives. A mismatch between lease and real address sends the file back.
- 03
Insurance with no Ukrainian cover
A policy bought at home often does not work here. We check the cover before filing, not at the counter.

Changing employer without reissue
The card is tied to a specific enterprise's permit. Moving to another one requires a new permit and a new card.

What the enterprise signs as the employer
Migration support runs under a contract with WORKIN, and we prepare the employer's HR documents. The enterprise only needs to sign them.
State fees for the permit and residence permit are paid by the enterprise directly to the state, with no markup.

Yes, if the work permit is valid and the stay is lawful. That is exactly why the filing is not postponed: it keeps the stay lawful.
