Workers from India for a production project

The project needed volume sourcing of workers from India for production, warehouse or construction roles. Workin ran interviews, trade verification, the visa route, transit, pickup and on-site adaptation.

Who had to be hired

  • Production workers
  • Warehouse workers
  • Construction trades
  • Group leads with English or the working language

Project constraints

  • A longer visa and transit route
  • Language adaptation on site
  • Living and dietary specifics that have to be planned for
  • Groups must arrive organised, not one by one

01The company's starting position

The plant needed a volume that neighbouring markets did not cover. India supplies that volume but requires a longer document route and separate work on adaptation.

02The Workin approach

Workin ran the project as a multi-stage route: selection in India, plant approval, visa, transit, pickup, housing, first day. Each stage had an owner and a status.

03Sourcing and screening

Candidates went through video interviews and trade verification. The plant approved profiles before visa processing started.

04Document route

Visa and permit documents were run per group, with timeline control and preparation for the visa centre interview.

05Arrival and housing

Transit and pickup were organised centrally: airport, transfer, housing, living briefing in the group's native or working language.

06First day at work

On the first shifts a group lead removed the language barrier between the supervisor and the workers.

07Support after the start

Adaptation was handled separately: living, meals, house rules, a coordinator contact for daily questions.

Project outcome

The plant received organised groups from India and a managed route instead of hiring individuals. The language barrier was covered by group leads rather than left to chance.
