A worker group for an agricultural enterprise

An agricultural enterprise needed a seasonal group of workers with housing near the site. Workin assembled the group and organised arrival, housing, transport and the work schedule.

Industry
Agriculture and food
Roles
Greenhouse workers, sorters, packers
Scope
Sourcing, documents, housing, transport

Who had to be hired

  • Greenhouse and field workers
  • Product sorters
  • Packers
  • Group lead with the working language

Project constraints

  • Hard dependency on season dates
  • Outdoor and greenhouse work
  • Housing and meals near the site
  • The group has to arrive together

01The company's starting position

The need is tied to the season: people are required in specific weeks and in full strength. There is no ready housing stock near the site, so living is part of the task rather than an add-on.

02The Workin approach

The project was built backwards from the season start: first the start date, then arrival, then documents, then sourcing. That produced a real schedule instead of a wished-for one.

03Sourcing and screening

Candidates with seasonal work experience and readiness to live as a group were selected. The group lead was approved separately: they absorb part of the living questions on site.

04Document route

Documents were processed as one package with strict date control: the season does not wait, so each stage had its own date.

05Arrival and housing

Housing and transport were agreed before arrival. The group moved in together and the coordinator ran the living briefing.

06First day at work

On day one the group was allocated across areas, issued workwear and briefed in its working language.

07Support after the start

Through the season the coordinator stayed in contact with the agronomist and the supervisor, handling living and transport questions.

Project outcome

The enterprise entered the season at full strength and with organised living. Housing and commuting stopped consuming on-site managers' time.

What the employer provides

  • Season dates and the work plan
  • Targets and pay on the areas
  • Workwear and tools
  • Approval of housing and living budget
