How to prepare an additional shift within a tight deadline
The plant named a shift launch date and asked for a plan against it. Workin built the schedule in reverse - from the start date back to the first application - and ran sourcing, documents and logistics in parallel.

01The company's starting position
The plant had a date by which the shift had to be working. A sequential approach - sourcing, then documents, then logistics - did not fit that date.
02The Workin approach
Workin built a reverse plan: start date, arrival date, document readiness date, candidate approval date, sourcing start date. Stages that could run in parallel did.
03Sourcing and screening
Sourcing and candidate approval ran alongside preparation of the document route, not after it.
04Document route
Documents were submitted in waves as candidates were approved, so nothing waited for the full group.
05Arrival and housing
Logistics and housing were booked in advance against the planned date rather than after documents came through.
06First day at work
The shift start was prepared as a separate event: briefing, workwear, allocation across areas, coordinator on site.
07Support after the start
After launch the coordinator stayed on site for the first shifts and closed living questions immediately.
Project outcome
The plant received a real schedule instead of a wished-for one and understood which stages cannot be shortened. The shift started at full strength.
