Workers for a woodworking plant
A woodworking plant lacked machine operators, sorters and packers. Workin verified hands-on experience, allocated the group across operations and organised a group arrival.

- Scope
- Sourcing, experience check, documents, arrival
Who had to be hired
- Woodworking machine operators
- Timber sorters
- Packers of finished product
- General workshop workers
Project constraints
- Different levels of preparation: some operations require experience
- Noise and dust on the areas, mandatory hearing protection
- Shift schedule
- The group has to enter production together, with one briefing
01The company's starting position
The plant was not running at full capacity: some areas stood idle for lack of people. Both experienced machine operators and workers for simple operations were needed.
02The Workin approach
Workin split the need in two: positions that require experience and positions where a worker can be trained on site. A separate candidate profile was built for each.
03Sourcing and screening
Experience was not taken on trust: candidates described the equipment they had worked on and the operations they had performed. Those applying for machines were approved separately after a video interview.

04Document route
Workin ran permits and migration documents for the whole group as one package, giving the plant a single readiness date instead of a dozen.
05Arrival and housing
The group arrived together and was housed in one building near the plant. Transport to the site and back was arranged against the shift schedule.
06First day at work
On day one the coordinator was on site: allocation to areas, workwear, protective equipment, briefing. Machine operators were checked by the plant's foreman.
07Support after the start
The project coordinator then stayed in contact with the production manager: schedule, living and replacement questions were handled within the contract.
Project outcome
The plant received fully staffed areas and a group that started at the same time. The allocation across operations was agreed before arrival, so day one was not spent finding a place for each person.
